Goodnight Lan Nguyen - 03/19/2006
Often our friends come and go -- they bid us farewell, as we bid them theirs. We wish them the best of luck and merely ask them to grace us with the good fortune of an occasional call or visit. But such is not the case today. Tragically, Lan had no opportunity to say goodbye to us. The cruel hand of fate has taken her from us both swiftly and silently. Yet even with her gone from us, let us not part ways without a goodbye... Without telling her one last time, or perhaps for the first, what she meant to some of us. Let it be our way of paying last respects to a soul who, of any, deserves it most.
To Lan: You were one of the most decent human beings I have ever come to known. Your heart was was big and matched by few. And thus it is with great sadness that you have left this world behind. In that same regard, it is with great joy and fortune that many of us came to know and love you. Thank you Lan for the long nights of talks. Thank you Lan for IM'ing me almost every morning to wish me well on my day... Thank you Lan for our chit chats that would pass a dreary day a little bit better. Thank you Lan, for, well... Being a great friend. You are well loved by all who knew you. Peace be with you. Goodnight Lan.
